Hey! I’m Kat. West Coast born, East Coast raised, and a mix of Southwestern influence in between. I am weirdly obsessed with those ultra cheesy rom-coms, my love for Mexican food is all too real, and I have a major fear of living more than hour away from the ocean. 

I started out my journey by getting my degree in Communications and Psychology. Once I graduated I worked as a social media strategist and planner for a coworking space and then tech startup, all while getting my photography business up and running. On the side I also worked as a social media manager for a few local businesses. I loved getting to know all the different industries from the construction industry to the beauty industry (and just about everything in between). While I loved helping these businesses grow by helping their social presence, my heart just wasn't super fulfilled.

I decided to go full time into my photography business. Kat Drake Creative is focused on Lifestyle Photography, where we show true intimate moments from couples to families. We love being able to explore the most beautiful places with our clients that turn into friends. You’ll find our way of doing things is to give more prompts than poses, and to always find a way to bring silliness into the mix to create genuine smiles. Our favorite photos are always the ones where everyone is smiling at one another and eyes are on each other instead of looking straight at the camera.
